The Nice Guys si conclude con gli investigatori privati Jackson Healy e Holland March che decidono di aprire la loro agenzia investigativa denominata: The Nice Guys.Los Angeles, 1977. Dopo la morte di sua moglie, l’investigatore privato Holland March (Ryan Gosling) è entrato in una crisi profonda. Viene assunto dalla signora Glenn (Lois Smith) per indagare sulla propria nipote, la pornostar Misty Mountains (Murielle Telio), deceduta qualche giorno prima, ma che lei crede ancora viva. L’uomo accetta l’incarico e si mette sulle tracce di una ragazza scomparsa di nome Amelia Kuttner (Margaret Qualley).La ragazza, che  non vuole farsi trovare, assolda il picchiatore Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) affinché si liberi dell’ investigatore. Dopo una scazzottata tra i due, Healy viene avvicinato dai gangster Blue Face (Beau Knapp) e il Vecchio (Keith David) che gli intimano di lasciar perdere la storia.
